Where Are You Continues, Again.....

Loaded up and since I’m a creature of habit anyone want to guess where I’m camping tonight?

 

So I am 30 minutes into an unplanned 34. Picked up a load on Wednesday. Shipper took so long to get me loaded. No chance of making the 1600 miles to the delivery last night. No other drivers close enough that could have repowered and ran it in team. Americold isn't open on the weekend. So I am sitting at the Loves in Saint Joseph, MO till they open on Monday morning. The good news is there is a great little Mexican joint on the other side of the overpass. Good food and margaritas. The GREAT news is I picked up a ribeye earlier today and a propane grill a couple days ago. So tonight, after watching the Rays lose to Houston, I'll be walking over for some dinner. Then tomorrow I'll cook up the steak.

 

Errr... can't remember the name... but I guess it's the same place where you camped the other night...

 

I'm still in the same apartment in Copa (Copacabana), Rio...
Visited my old ooooold apt in Botafogo... lived there in the 70's... It's sold now... and the new owner is making a big reform in it... It was definitely a "different feeling" to see it this way... But I must let go of the memories and embrace the present.



The building is the one under the red arrow.. when my parents bought the apt back in 1971, there were only 6 buildings there...



And my friends and I used to climb that hill on the right of the picture... on foot all the way to the top...

Today, May 1st there were demonstrations all over the country here... And the one in Rio was pretty nice... Felt like a huge party... Folks singing, waiving flags in a very relaxed atmosphere... There was a lot of unity. The speeches were powerful and very enthusiastic... I connected with them all... And felt really good being there... Wish I could see the same in the USA...

 

I stayed at the cold storage that I loaded at. Generally if I’m not loaded by noon I’ll stay there instead of fighting traffic since my first stop isn’t far away.
TA East Knoxville now, I have a stop south of town, then next stop isn’t until late Monday night in crashville.
