    No... :biggrin_25513:

But well.... after all my "research" and planning, I thought I had made up my mind... BUT had to call someone who lives around that NJ area and he gave me yet another choice... Instead of taking I-80E and US-206 to I-287 to Edison, NJ, take I-80 to US-33 south to I-78 E and park at TA in Bloomsbury or Pilot in Clinton and he would pick me up for a "nice weekend"...
Well, at first I thought no way I would try to find a good parking at that small Pilot... :biggrin_25512: and I thought that TA charged for parking...
But then, I considered a few things: I might find parking there and that route would be only 13 extra miles and after reset I would be closer to receiver than if I parked at TA in Columbia... and considering the snow on Monday, that might be a very valid choice, worthy of consideration...
So, when I stopped for fuel I called TA and was told if I found parking there, there would be no charge... hmmmm.... I would just have to check Google satellite to help me making up my mind...

So, I was trying to figure a bunch of things in a hurry while trying to fuel.... and THAT'S WHEN I SCREW UP PRETTY BAD... :biggrin_2552:

I put 2 gallons of diesel in the DEF tank... :biggrin_2555::biggrin_25521:

I don't know what I was thinking... but it wasn't about fueling...

And it was easy to put the diesel hose nozzle in there cause the little tube inside the opening of the tank has fallen inside it last year...

Although I have pointed that out to co., it wasn't fixed...

So, after my screw up, I didn't leave the fuel bay... didn't start the truck, turned my flashers on and asked Pilot to put two cones behind my truck... and called the co.

Had to be towed to wreck yard where I sit till Monday when will be towed to Freightliner.... :biggrin_2552:

Company was going to pay for hotel and told me to go to one... But nah.... I rather stay in my "home"... this truck IS MY HOME... Here I cook and do everything that I need... Besides, I'm really tired of carrying A LOT of stuff out of truck and back in the truck...

I am feeling PRETTY BAD about this thing... maybe this was a "wake up call" telling me that I need to evaluate some things and make some changes....

Hey Rocks, maybe it is. But don't be too hard on yourself. You are as human as any of us, and crap happens. Just out of curiosity, what would happen if you just decided to go ahead and drive the truck? All this def stuff has come on board since I retired.

The def would get into the system and make much more damage... it's not supposed to go where the fuel goes... not sure exactly what it would damage... the filters, the injectors, maybe even the engine... I will find out on Monday at Freightliner...

Found this online... not much but here it goes,

"However, a small number of cases have been reported where diesel has been put in the DEF tank. Diesel is less dense than DEF and will float on top of the DEF in the tank, but even small amounts of diesel can damage your SCR system and we recommend that you contact your dealer immediately and do not drive the vehicle."

    Big Don Thanks this.
  10. You did good not starting your truck. I talked to a rep on an SRC system. He says , they will pull your tank off and replace it. Maybe pull a feed line to the pump. Since the tow trucks sloshed the diesel around in the def tank. It will be a loss on the little tank. I doubt the dozer system was effected. But just some techie stuff.

On a side. Note, diesel in def tank. Way better than def into diesel tank. This is a common accurance, and has happened many many times.

You did good by catching the slip up. We are only human. You'll be on the road again very soon.

    Enjoy dinner , stay warm.
