When I got to the pick up about 10 minutes from home first off the forklift had a dead battery.
My cables and his cables got power from his truck to the forklift. After he put the second tote on the trailer the forklift got stuck in the gravel. My truck pulled him free.
My GPS tried like the dickens to get me over to 45. But I was determined to go up 59 to 270 and run that to Corsicana. And so I did. Got fuel in Corsi. Got to the Ennis Plant at 12:45.
Was unloaded lickety split! But ate lunch and sent empty at 1:15 and jumped on 45 south bound and down. He sent go home. I sent I was going to town to drop the trailer first.
He called when I was right about an hour out. And asked if I would do an Altus to Cathay Pacific run. A box and a pallet. I was GOING to drop the trailer first but that would have been out of the way pretty bad, so I got close to Altus and parked for a bit.
There were plenty of vehicles in the parking lot and the doors were open.
But I had to go to the front door to get someones attention. Got the pallet and box strapped on the trailer. Cathay Pacific which is also where Emerites and one other airline drop was a madhouse. Took 45 minutes to drop. Went to the truck stop and did paperwork and logbook work. Got home 7:30 Some leftover Spaghetti and some TV. And my phone wouldn't get on here so I am on the 'puter. Two more websites and of to ZZZZZZZ land I go!

Hey... my food is good... for me or course... :biggrin_2559: And tonight I prepared a DELICIOUS soup with left overs from yesterday + more cabagge + more carrots + tomatoes + snap beans + spaghetti pasta + garbanzo beans and some spices... It was soooooo good that I ate it HOT... didn't wait for it to cool down...
Should be in bed one hr ago...
I was going to park at an independent truck stop on I-80 WY but after calling, found out the number was no longer in service... Almost called Cranky to ask if he knew... But decided to park earlier at this one instead...

Found a good spot where nobody can hit me and it will be easy to leave tomorrow early morning...

My co. safety director called me today.... :biggrin_2554: I thought, "Oh-ho.... what did I do now..."
But she told me that after checking my Annual Review, safety records and other things, they decided to give me one more penny per mile... :biggrin_25519:
I was like... :biggrin_2554: Oohh... My beginning in this co. was kinda "bumpy"... it was much more challenging than what I was used before... but she said that despite of that, they think I am doing a great job, they like me and want me to stay... :biggrin_25519:

I hope and pray that things continue going well... cause crap can happen to anybody at any time... regardless of how much experience one has...
Talked to a gentleman today, he said he has been driving trucks for over 50 yrs and over a year ago, his steer tire blew up and something caught on fire and burnt down his whole cab... :biggrin_2555: he lost everything inside... Was luck to get out alive...
I gotta go to bed.... Good nite...

In a while we are going to begin an odyssey where we go get my Cousins three kids and Tahoe.
We load all of us and the stuff we are taking and go first to Spring, TX for a birthday party for my Old Uncle Don.Then we all saddle up again and go to Brenham, TX for a family reunion.
A day at work is often less stressful that this will be.
