Your safety officer is full of it. You can work like a dog as long as you aren't behind the wheel and moving.......

Couldn't quote to you exactly what part of the book says that though.

Other posters in the forum found it for me Mr. Vilhiem...:yes2557: and I have just finished an email that I will send to my safety boss in my company... Got plenty of links to the FMCSA and examples saying it is not a violation to perform on duty work after the 14th hr.. only driving is a violation after the 14 without a 10 hr break.
Asking my safety boss in my email to show me where in the Regs book it says that is a violation...
Gotta go to bed now... You all be very safe and stay out of trouble... :biggrin_25519:

You are correct work as much as you like past 14 don't drive though till you have had a 10hr break. I used to work 36hrs shifts take my 10 then drive a rig home No DOT ever questioned it.

    Here ya go Rocks...https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/hours-service/summary-hours-service-regulations
The key to this is the first three words..."May not DRIVE"....the regulation says nothing about performing on duty functions for any period of time beyond the 14 hour rule.

    Rocks and Vilhiem Thank this.

Someone else in another thread beat you to the punch. I was on my phone, still am, so I'm limited.

...truthfully I should be asleep. But my brain is running 1,000,000mph. I hate nights when that happens.

I hang in there for two big reasons.
    1: I HATE change.
2: Any empolyer is going to call PAM as a matter of course. And PAM isn't going to give me a glowing review.

Other that that life just keeps on going.
