Brother.....oppressively hot and muggy here at the homestead! Should max out at about 105...now only 101!

But what is happening a bit over 30 miles to our south and east......

 

We've got one going in the Pine Valley Mountains, (who the hell ever heard of calling a mountain range "Pine Valley Mountains. . .Only in Utah. . .) Anyway, it isn't huge, a bit over 700 acres at last report, but it is threatening some of the water supply for St. George and surrounding communities.

 

Coming up I-5 last night...signs said 152 (Santa Nella to Gilroy) was closed due to fire...another one down up outside of Fresno....and coming over the Grapevine....downpours and lightning. Lightning was ground striking and starting small fires along the highway, some trucks were stopping and using their fire extinguishers to help the fire crews busy on several spot fires along the way.

Good people those truckers....wonder if they spoke English(?)....no matter, they were doing the GOOD DEED!

At company terminal now... will have truck PM tomorrow and will talk to Ms. Safety boss... She and Mr. director of operations must get on the same page about this PTI (post trip inspection). It's confusing that she tells drivers to flag the PTI and don't count any minutes and he tells me that I must show at least a couple minutes on duty...
Unfortunately he will not be in the company tomorrow.... But she will... and she is the head of Safety and the log person in the company. There's nothing in the Regulation book that states how long a PTI must take... If she wants it to be 2 minutes in agreement with Mr. director, fine... but then let all drivers know, send a Peoplenet message to the fleet and I will do it... But if she keeps it the way it is, then Mr. director has to agree with her and stop changing my elog and taking away my precious driving minutes... I am not happy about that and will not accept that...
