Mine is still long, mostly because I haven't had a chance to run by the barber to get it lopped off. Grew it out to donate, couldn't tell you why but ever since I learned you could donate your hair for wigs for cancer patients I always wanted to do it.

I've got bald in my genes. Figure I best do it before those kick in......

I had it once while I was at a shipper, nah. It'll do in a pinch. For a chain, it isn't terrible at all.

But...if you go by the media...then good people and truckers don't go in the same sentence... I'm so confused!

Those guys (the truckers) deserve at least a handshake and cold beverage.

Never had to do it before, but fighting fires is tough work. It aggravates me how little they, and other emergency personelle get paid to do what they do.

I learned at my previous job that there's two kinds of folks "up top."

Managers, as they do just that, manage.

Leaders, folks that aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and do the work with you to help get the job done.

...I would stick my neck out for any leaders we had. Managers, well they didn't like me too much.

Chopper. I tried .5MM and found it not to make a bold enough line. I had a time when I thought 1mm was the best. But the .7MM hits a sweet spot!

Prior to this pen I was rocking Pilot Precise V5 RT pens. EXCELLENT logbook pens, But they go through ink pretty fast and the skinny little tip bends for a thought.

I tended to only like ball point pens. But the ink in the G2 doesn't smear like some other Gel pens.

until and unless something better comes along I'm a G2 user!

If I see the packing, I'll stick a picture up. I don't do paper logs, but I use stiff felt-tipped pens. They don't smear, but they also don't transfer through carbon paper very well, so it'll just depend.

Yeah, a lot of departments don't pay well at all. When I first started trucking, I had an offer from El Paso Fire to move there and become a Captain for their department....1/3 of what El Dorado (my dept) was paying. But this situation (Butte Fire, Amador and Calaveras county, 64k acres as of this morning) is where we made some real $$$! Paid top matching rate for your position at either State or Fed level and 24 hours per day. Which rate group was determined by who the "responsible agency" was for the fire. 12 hour shifts on the fire line and base camp (rest), and our department would switch out engine crews every 7 days. http://yubanet.com/2015Local/ButteAEU.php

When I was in orientation with Sni, two of my classmates were from ambulatory services and one was an ex-fire fighter.

Two of our trainers were ex-healthcare (ER) and one was a firefighter. Yep... It's sad.
