Today was a wee bit better than the average this week.
1: Southwest Wire Rope near Hobby a 780# pallet to Oceanex off west Beltway.
2: MW Industries 2,100# pallet to Sumner.
3: Sumner to Houston Heat Treat a bin 120#
4: Sumner to Vanguard basket 793#
5: was to be stuff from Vanguard to Sumner.
But since I couldn't take the complete PO# he decided it will all be done by a gooseneck on Monday.
5: Actually Pipeline Packaging (was told 1 pallet but it was 2). Address given to me and on the paperwork was in Tomball. Fought traffic to get to the address. Found out it delivers not 10 miles from where I picked it up.
If I get paid near what I think I should it will have been a very good day.
Walked into the house at 7:15.
Some sort of Mexican food concoction was dinner.
Not a school night but I'll be asleep before too long.

Dave just a suggestion on the battery go to an advanced or o'reilly and ask if they have any blim's they could sell. I pick good batteries like that all the time $20 to $50.

A thorough cleaning of the battery terminals made a decent difference. If I could score a decent battery for the the other side I think it would be a non issue at least for as long as the engine lasts.

My sister took off in the truck a while ago.
She wasn't going far enough to have any trouble ( he says with his fingers crossed ).

At a Pilot in OKC.... left loaded trailer at company terminal and they will unload it tomorrow... Tomorrow they all come back to terminal, office folks and shop folks... Have a small list of things for them to check... not sure how long it's going for them to fix those things... but I rather have them fixed now than on some other day...

Company set up a pre trip for us drivers... they put some things on the truck and trailer for us to find out during a pre trip... and evaluated our performance.
I am soooooo psssed.... I missed10 things that I would normally not miss.... :biggrin_25510: Throughout my trucking "career" I have moved from truck to truck and driven 14 trucks so far... And I always checked all those things... Don't know WHY I missed them this time.... I thought I was being thorough... but I missed them...

Here is the list of things I missed:

    Horns (service and air)
Emergency equipment (skipped the whole compartment)
Loose lug nut on one trailer tire
Annual inspection sticker on trailer was outdated
Air lines were entangled and touching the cat walk
Reflective strip on top of tractor was missing
One DOT red light back of tractor was missing
DOT strip on top of mud flap was missing
One locking pin on the sliding tandem rail was blocked
Trailer brake needed adjustment (actuator rod was too way out on one side)

They told me not to make it a big deal... that evaluation was only for "training" purposes... and some very experienced drivers here missed 15 things... :biggrin_2554: Well... but I don't care about other drivers... My only "comfort" is that I generally check those things and I would have checked all those if I were moving into another truck...
And now they want me to drive around the block for another safety test... Here I go...

And now I am back... that driving was uneventful.... examiner said everything was "perfect"... We didn't have a trailer though... :biggrin_25519:

And one of the drivers here brought his alarm clock... cute... :biggrin_25519:

And company gave me another bag of "goodies".... They give gifts to drivers here constantly...

This is what I got on last Driver's Appreciation Week

And today got more of the same + something else...

They are working on the truck and it may be ready by the end of the day...
