Enjoy... I'll be picking up a load in NE and then going to IA... However, I didn't see much any roadside inspection last year... and most of the inspection stations I passed by were closed.... Shall see this year...

The sometimes dispatcher Miquel wants me at 8:30 on Sens Rd. In La Porte to get a sample going near downtown on West Alabama. That would nearly be the worst possible time to journey from La Porte to there.
I reckon since i have to hit the office anyhow I'll probably go there from La Porte. If that makes somebody mad oh well.

By the way. I got a message from my Sister last week to call the insurance company. I got a voicemail from them too. It's a case of phone tag.

When things aren't layed out perfectly 4 is all I can hope for. I did go to the office with the blessing of Roland.
From W. Alabama just outside of downtown it was up by the Airport for a 414# plt going all of 5 miles. Then down by Hobby for a 250# plt going to Pasadena.
Then deep into Baytown for another sample going on W. Alabama. Ran out of time. Might have made it by 5 but wasn't about to bet on it. Roland never answered my texts about it. So I brought it home.

When the dispatcher has his head up his butt it was a 3 day. On the way in he sends pick up at K-Solv 3 drums going to roughly 610 and 288. Just as I was almost there he sends get that sample to them ASAP.
When i got there they were pissed. I put it all on Roland.
He texts all deliveries must be delivered by days end unless customer says otherwise. They told me they are always there until 7pm at least. Had i known that previously (NO thanks to Roland) i indeed would have delivered yesterday. Went back to Channelview. Was told to come back after lunch. He said he'd get me a second stop. In the meantime picked up a pallet near Hobby and took it up off 290. Then grabbed a pallet off FM529. Took it out HWY 90. Almost to San Jacinto River. Then grabbed a pallet 610 and Homestead going up to Bollore (SDV).

Miquel sent me a text saying pick up J&T Tool 7am and deliver up 290 to a Kroger parking lot.

Apparently I am indeed the last pickup truck driver they have. Preferably not for too much longer!

How long "not too much longer" is?

I'm at my company terminal in OK having truck and trailer quarterly preventative maintenance done... Hopefully they can finish this evening... gotta deliver this load tomorrow morning in TX...

That is the 24,000 dollar question Miss Rocks.
Almost certainly the next job will not be driving.
The condition of my truck makes the US Postal Service not likely. I think Lowes or Tractor Supply would be the best fit. But starting at the bottom at 56 years old ain't gonna be a lot of fun.
