I am at my company yard now... got brand new tires for the drives... Will continue my trip to TN... and now trying to decide if I will leave after my 8 mandatory hrs in the sleeper (Ms. Safety rules here).... that would be 22:00 tonight... or if I will leave in the morning...
I would like to leave at night but forecast shows freezing rain and snow tonight till 3 am...So... I may leave in the morning... will deliver on 12/26... So there's plenty of time to reset and then deliver on time...

So.... decided to leave my company yard at 22:30 last night... there was no snow or rain, just wet road... but man oh man... as soon as I hit the road, traffic stopped... big accident ahead involving multiple vehicles... that's what I heard on the CB...
After 30 minutes sitting there I got tired and decided to try an alternate route... right when the traffic started moving again...But then it was too late... Took the alternate route just to find out the ramp I needed to get back on the road was closed due to construction....
Anyway... got back on the road and faced more accidents....
And then, some freezing rain and one inch of snow on the ground east of OKC and border with AR.... the worst of it was the 15 mile wind and me hauling only 10 thousand lbs in the box...
But I used some tips that I learned here at the forum... if I understood right, I kept +/- 50 mph and high RPMs... and it felt like the truck was holding pretty well on the road...specially because of the brand new tires on the drives...
Some light rain all the way to TN.... and now parked at a Pilot for my 10...
And found one BIG screw on the trailer tire... leaking air... Will have it fixed tonight at TA....Last edited: Dec 23, 2017

Merry Christmas everyone! I haven't been on for a minute... almost made a huge mistake leaving my current company to go local for a crane company!! Wow did I ever Dodge a bullet!! I almost left a great paying job with new equipment to go drive junk! And their idea of local home every day was getting off at 10 pm and be back in at 3am!!
I'm heading back out Tuesday. Hope everyone enjoys their holiday and those who aren't home thanks for all you do and be safe!! -
Got trailer tire fixed last night and as I was fueling at a tiny Pilot nearby where I was going to park, I found two empty spots... that's a Pilot that is CONSTANTLY FULL... but last night it was quite empty and so I decided to park right there... and that was a GREAT spot....
This is a panoramic view of that place.... almost surreal to see it so empty like that...That place is ALWAYS a ZOO...
Some trucks arrived and the drivers' wifes (or significant others) met them and they all left...
I thought I was going to spend another Christmas sitting in the truck all by myself... but an old friend of mine who lives nearby and happened to be taking time off at home with his wife, invited me to spend the day with them and sleep in their house...Oohhh... that made me sooo happy....
He pick me up, we went for groceries, then to his place... met his wife... and now resting in a king size bed in their guest bedroom...
But will be back in the truck tomorrow to finish somethings and get ready for Tuesday.... will deliver nearby and then head to IN for another load...
My company has only 5 drivers running thru this Christmas season and lots of donation loads sitting and waiting to be picked up...LWT104, chopper103in and BigBob410 Thank this. -
MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL!
