Picked one up in the Buckeye going down to Bowling Green for tomorrow.
These short runs pay crazy good.

Yes... short runs pay more than loooong ones...
My company doesn't do short runs... don't know why... But I don't care... I'm paid by the miles.... and I like looooong miles....
My company uses brokers they know and have been doing business with them for many years...
But most of the broker loads look like stuff that others don't want....
Which is a shame... our company has very well maintained equipment, our drivers are experienced folks with over 30 yrs experience (except me), we have one of the best safety record in the country (if not the best) among the small carriers... It seems to me that my company could be getting more money for the service they/we provide...
Anyway... this is the place I delivered today...

Looked like a back yard industry/plant....

After empty, I asked the folks what they made there and they said they make 1,000 different products that they sell to various other industries in the country.... Amazing... :biggrin_2554:

Was going to deliver tomorrow but rushed rushed so now I can reset and gain my 70 again....
Don't know what folks are talking about emergency in north AL because of the snow.... Ran all night, since midnight... from TN to LA... didn't see any snow... only a few ice patches in MS...
Parked now at a Pilot in LA... it's sunny here but cold and dry...

Haven’t checked in on this thread for a day or twelve.

I left trucking for good this afternoon. 20 years was enough. Just could not suffer the idiots that possess CDLs any longer. Too many close calls, too little courtesy. At age 57, it was time. Godspeed and safe travels to you all.

Good to "hear" from you Mr. @48Packard ... :biggrin_25519:
And little bit by little bit the most experienced drivers leave this industry... :biggrin_2557: trucking is going thru a big "metamorphosis"...
I bet you had a lot of fun during your trucking years sir... I wish you a great time and lots of happiness doing whatever you plan on doing... :biggrin_25519:

I live Just south of Atlanta. Wife and daughter said we 3 inches of snow and it was 22 degrees outside. School was cancelled for my daughter today and the school sent all work over the computer for her today. She wasn’t happy.
