Today was suppose to be ELD day, I never plugged in but my tablet wouldn't let me edit.....whatever

 

My happy ### is home for the weekend.

As far as ELDs go, the 30 minute break is such bullcrap (I was off the road when it came to be.) And the 14 clock has left me making choices between doing an errand or grabbing a bite to eat, as doing both means not making my intended destination before timing out.

 

That 30 minute BS is the problem I have! The other night I was 15 minutes from the house but had to take a 30 before I could go home! I felt safer though.... I think or was I well rested??

 

WAIT A MINUTE.... Is that beard REAL? How can that be? The last time we met you had no beard.... it wasn't long ago... was it?
Well... maybe it was... a couple years ago? Gosh... time flies....

Hey... nice picture... finally I can put a face on Mr. @chopper103in comments here... and will keep an eye out when I see one of his company trucks... I see those trucks frequently here in the east coast...

 

YES! A BIG LOAD OF CRAP!! Created by office folks... our rules should be made by people who understand our work... former truckers maybe...
And today I called a weigh station in VA to ask if I could park there for my 10 at night... and the smart pants told me "no..." Why not? "Because this is not a truck stop"...
Duh.... idiot.... told him, we know that... but with such a big parking lot and truckers desperate for a place to park, why not allow folks to park there?
He kept repeating himself... that they just don't allow... and told me about the minuscule truck stop nearby and the rest area that is good for a few trucks...
Yeah.. right... told him.... at night they are all full.... Now after the ELD mandate, it's impossible to find a place to park after dark... truck stops charge and are packed, the ramps and rest areas are overflowing with trucks... and you guys have a nice size parking lot but will not allow us to park there...
He just apologized...
Yeah... he is a dick head.... I have parked at weigh stations in VA before... where officers were nice enough to allow trucks there...
