I was at Cargill.

It appears I am going to get very wet tomorrow.

 

Tonight I rolled in again after 21:00. I was cruising from United Cargo towards Cargolux when the phone rings at 18:40. "I need you to go back to SDV to get one more order for Cargolux"
If it was THAT #### important why wasn't it ready when I sat at SDV for better than an hour leaving there at 19:08 and rushing to Murphy Shipping for two loads and getting 3 things off the trailer before that phone call?

It's ALMOST enough to make me say "F" it.....

Even PAM didn't usually rile me up like dispatch & SDV do!

 

Gonna get wet too, methinks. Pick up in Owatonna, MN and drag it to drop in Council Bluffs tomorrow.

 

Cargill was what I was thinking. I've had to load there a few times myself. However I can say it was not nearly as busy/slow as what you're most likely experiencing.

Also for anyone in the area depicted in the weather snapshot above, keep your eyes and ears open. My local weather man stated the wind shear will be favorable for producing tornadoes. This will occur during the late evening, around 9 pm for the Topeka area. Not a good time for tornadoes to develop, since it will be shortly after sunset, making it difficult to spot them.

Just a side note, on June 8, 1966, Topeka was hit by a very powerful, destructive and deadly tornado. Then on June 8, 1974, Emporia was struck by a very deadly tornado. I remember it very, very well. I lived in the area hit by that tornado. So tomorrow seems to be a date that the twisters like to play in this area.

If you see one of them storm chase vehicles that look like a tank, proceeding in the same direction as you, you can reasonably assume that you're going the wrong way.

Alorton, IL... at the J. Plenty of moisture in the Midwest for that storm to work with too. And I'm cutting down to the SW towards Oklahomy City. Sweet!!!
