You didn't tell him it was a year old Freightshaker did ya' Hammer? He probably wanted a one of them Vulvas.. :biggrin_2559:

Delivered load to KCMO this morning. Got there right at opening time, 7am. Dumped and gone by 7:15. Hoping to get out of KC before the real traffic jams start. Nope, had to deal with a couple of jams. However made it clear back to Lenexa before having to slow and stop.

Home for a short weekend. Dispatch has me loading early Monday morning at Chanute (CKD), dump time 7am in Wichita. Every time I get home early on Friday, dispatch manages to hit me with these dust loads. :biggrin_25523:

I wish I was skinny enough to be a car hauler. :( This middle of the night reefer BS is starting to wear a little thin. Maybe I'm already starting to get a little crusty? :biggrin_255:

Finally shaking in Conyers, GA. Looks like I'm heading for my second detention pay in less than 12 hours. Gotta love the slow pace of the south.

I know this is not the thread for it and you posted this about 3 days ago.... but I want to make a comment... You can only get 14 after a complete 10 hr break. If you want or need to get off of the split you must make sure you take a full complete 10 hr break. So, in your example, you would not have 11 available hrs to drive but only a few left and would be "stuck" in that cycle till you took a full, uninterrupted 10 hr break.

True. I almost never use the 8/2 as it doesn't work for the schedule I like to keep. But it does come in handy on occasion.

Only made to Exit 19 on 20. Fueled, scaled, re-weighed and came to the realization that there was a margarita across the street with my name on it.

The 8 hour break doesn't count against your 14. You get a full 11 on either side of the 8, and 14, less the 2 hour break.

Hmmmm... when using the 8-2 split basically the 8 in the sleeper only extends the 14 hr clock by 8 hrs. For instance, if you drove 5 hrs, then took 8 in the sleeper, you would have only 6 hrs available to drive. You only get the drive time that you have not used of you 11 yet. In order to get a full 11 and 14 you have to have a complete consecutive break.

Oh yes, I am in TN...

You take the 2 at an appropriate point to cover your required 30-minute break, and the 11 and 14-hour clocks are now counted from the end of the 8-hour break. It's confusing, but keeps you moving. Sleep at your "Rocks Place" during the 8, hit a truckstop for a shower during the 2. The next 8-hour break resets the start point of your 11 and 14-hour clocks at the end of the 2-hour break, and the 8 doesn't count against your 14.

Run off your recap (you can't do more than the recap- 70 hours in 8 days) until you want a break, THEN take a reset.
