ANOTHER only 2 day. If one had not been 1,728# from Conroe to Friendswood I would be quite upset. Had dispatch only known when he sent it that my first pickup was an afternoon pickup and I was already close to it without trailer.... I might have had an $8xx or $9xx day instead of the $2xx it was. Missed out on 2,500# to I-10/610E area and 5,000# to Schulenburg, TX.

Well today was fun.. NOT. Delivered the load to KCMO, then back to the shop and had to switch to a newer truck. An orange 2012 KW T800. Had to drop my trailer, then scrape all the grease off of the 5th wheel plate. These KWs have teflon on the 5th wheels. Then the transfer started. I finally finished up around 4pm, then preloaded to go to Claflin. Before I left I discovered that when I plug my GPS into the power plug it blows the fuse. Then I still have to get my inverter out of the old truck and get it put in this one. It seems they think I should do that myself. I told them I don't have an in-line fuse for it, and preferred there be one. They're suppose to pull it out of the old truck tomorrow morning. We'll see. I didn't want to do it, because the shop was busy, so I would have to crawl around underneath it on gravel, not going to do that again.
This new(er) ride is going to take a little getting used to. It is real quiet, and no it's not a weed-burner, it has 2 stacks. I'm so used to shifting by the engine/turbo sound. Clutch is different, instead of being on the floor, it's a firewall type. You wouldn't think it would be that much difference, but there's a world of difference. Also the mechanic told me that they don't even have a clutch brake, they can not adjust them. It also has smaller fuel tanks and uses that DEF crap. Will have make sure I fill that tank too. Then the gauges and switches are not even close to being in the same place. Only has 1 "suspension load gauge". I'm used to having 2, so I don't know how to tell the loader when I have enough on the front. Lift-axle switch is backwards to what I'm used to. Yep this is going to take a little time to learn it. Oh well it seems to be a nice ride though. Like I said this thing is real quiet. Heck can't hardly hear the jakes.
I'll try to take some pics in the next couple of days and post them in the Pics section. -
