Glad to hear you got out of that mess without any injuries to you or the tractor. Stay safe, my friend.

You deserve a break, Pete. How do you know the planners didn't work twice as hard to get you those 2 layovers :biggrin_25523:

So when Patty's in the truck, Pete does what he's told by the BOSS LADY :biggrin_2559:

Home in Wilmington, NC waiting to hear from the shop about the location of the leak in my charge air system and what it will cost to repair. Taking this opportunity to remove the 'winter' gear from the truck interior and reset it for 'summer'.

Before I got my truck out of the shop in Salina, had to take a mechanic for test run. He had is laptop connected to the truck. Numerous times he said that I should or would be getting a low oil pressure alarm. Didn't though since it was disconnected, and we was using his mechanical gauge. After that they called my boss who told them to just button it up, and I was to "nurse" it back. However this was after delivering to Great Bend, then loading at Lyons and delivering that to Topeka this morning. Then I was to take my truck to Foley in Topeka.

Well after leaving the shop in Salina, I couldn't get the darn thing to trip the low oil pressure alarm, no matter what I tried. It was running around 30-35 psi running down the road, then just a hair over 20psi idling. Delivered the load to Topeka, then took it to the Foley shop, boss was waiting there to give me a ride back.

So I'm home until Monday, which is a double-edged sword. Nice to have the time off, but the paycheck is going to suck. Luckily I had a few good paying loads before this happened.

I've been running a little bold, but I think I'll scale it back for awhile. The other day, one of our drivers got caught on the big road (interstate) grossing more than 80k. So today, while taking the load to Topeka, there was a 3-car wreck on I-70, just a little east of where I-470/US 75 dumps onto it. The wreck was on the inside/left lane. Just my luck, as I came onto I-70, traffic at crawl, the next car up on my left....Full Grown Bear. :biggrin_2551: Oh crap, I hope he's not one of those that have the mindset, if it's a rock truck he's got to be grossing more than 80k. I crept along being real courteous, allowing the cars to move over in front of me, bear was creeping along beside me, then finally ahead of me. I slowed, and finally he moved over in front of me. Once passed the accident he kept going. (Wreck was being worked by local police). I jumped off where I needed to, (Gage Blvd), and headed straight into the KDOT. Yep load I had was going there, and I kept my fingers crossed that the bear was not going to the office. WHEW... no sign of him or others, quickly dumped, and got the heck out of there. Oh, yep I was slightly over (5,500# ) the 80k. Also this particular KDOT yard, is known for picking out us end-dumps with spread/lift-axles, when we lift our axle to make the turn. They see or hear (airbag dump), that axle lift, they'll stop us for over-weight on axle, rear most axle. Pure Chicken-poops..
