I heard there was 2 feet of snow in Sturgis SD, with more to come. Be careful out there, Rocks. And make sure you stay warm.
You certainly take it right to the last minute, Eaton.
Thoughts and prayers for the under sheriff.

Bennett, CO I think. Here's a pic from the earlier storm. It lasted about a hour then it cleared up.

I did some little piddlin stuff including getting told A pickup number for Murphy and finding TWO. A made a ticket for number two. Later got sent back to Murphy with the same A pickup number and finding TWO. Got called inside and the man called the sales guy. Dispatch had told me he had no problem with extra tickets. Now I have a choice of just sucking it up or never going to Murphy again. The bad part of what they do is like reaching in my pocket and plucking money out. But occasionally I pull some good weight from there so I guess I'll just keep my thoughts to myself.
Then I went to SDV for 10 (changed to 11) boxes for Air France. Sat there from 13:00 to 16:45. Got two for Cargolux and another for Air France as I waited. Left there with that stuff and 3pc of Hazmat. After I dumped Cargolux I hit Air France. Did not even try to give them the Hazmat. Dispatch never heard about the other 8 pieces. And I told him I'd deliver this stuff Monday. Stuart at AF asked me "what if it was supposed to fly tomorrow" and I said I don't care. And I REALLY don't!!!! -
Further down the road than yesterday!

Here I am....
Expected to be rolling right now but had to park here instead cause I-80 W is closed from Cheyenne to west...Started rolling at 3 am central time, passed some strong winds, stopped at Walmart in Sidney, NE for some groceries and someone on the CB told me I-80 W was closed since last night.... But I was hopping it would open soon.... Nahhhh....
Inspection station at Cheyenne was packed and officer said, "hopefully you will find a spot at truck stop"...
So, I knew what to expect when I arrived at this Pilot.... Trucks parked everywhere... on the street.... So, I found this nice cozy corner at this business right across from truck stop. Turned CB off cause guys can't stop joking and cursing each other... I-25 is also closed.... I wonder when it will re-open.... I wonder if the gov. shut down affects those cleaning highways... Will... hopefully sun will warm up the road later today and we will be able to get out of here..... wonder if that might congest the hwy....

Had a day off at home on wednesday and was back to work thursday and friday. Thursday morning I hauled 2 loads of dry urea fertilizer from Portage Mb to Elm Creek Mb then in the afternoon I headed up to Yorkton Sk. Got into Yorkton around 10pm. Spent the night there and it got a bit cool, minus 3 degrees C.
I had a bit of trouble finding the correct entrance to the fertilizer plant on Friday morning! Went around the gravel roads a few times until I got the correct entrance! Loaded MES Zinc and headed directly back to Elm Creek Mb to offload. Got offloaded and was back at the yard by 4pm. Parked the truck and came home for my girls birthday.
I got back to the city at 6pm and raced around the mall getting her some birthday gifts and also got a prime rib roast that I cooked for supper. Had some people over and a few beers.Attached Files:

Hey Rocks, looks like winter is starting early down there! There has apparently been some snow around up here but I havent seen any yet. A friend sent me some pics of snow in Montana this past week. The temps around my area are gradually getting cooler but still nice during the day, I havent had to put a jacket on yet. Still good with just a sweater.

HAHAH.... Kw9's.... last night I put 2 layers of pants, sweater, heavy jacket, hat to cover my ears, gloves... and my nose started aching... got a red nose like that Rudolph deer... Yes... winter has started already...
Thankfully this truck is very well insulated and I haven't needed to use the bunk heater yet. Hey man, I wish your girlfriend a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Have a great enjoyable day you both!

Darn! I wish I knew last night this I-80 was shut down.... I might have stayed right there, at that "truck stop/convenience store" till Sunday morning so I could get my 70 hrs and would dlver on Tuesday, which is OK per broker and dsp... well... Will walk to Pilot here and get a hot Subway veggie pizza....
