I am at an mpt rest area in OR... cooking my meal and will start planning my stops for tomorrow shortly. :yes2557:
Woke up at 3 am central this morning, stopped at Pilot for scale and found out I would not be able to have less than 34,000 on the drive or the rear axles.... tried to move fifth wheel but was stuck, :biggrin_25510:called maintenance person at 5 am central time.. he said, "no!" can't move that fifth wheel or we will be illegal on the steers... So, took a nap till dsp arrived at office and asked her opinion. She agreed with me that I should go back to shipper and either get them to make me legal or I would not haul their load. But shipper rearranged load and despite of me being still 240 lbs over on my drive, I found out that I have a maximum of 400 lbs allowance on my front or drive axle as long as I am below 80,000 total.... and I am 79,650 lbs... :biggrin_25519: Safety person faxed me a letter stating this rule just in case I have to show it to DOT...
My co. is very concerned about safety and being legal... no wonder they won the safety award in 2013... and they want to keep it this way...
So, called customer to ask about their hrs and give him my eta and he was expecting this load for Thursday... :biggrin_25523: REALLY!? Not possible. :biggrin_25513: From OR to TN?? :biggrin_25513: He offered me $ 300.00 to be there on Friday.... I felt sorry for him... but I can't do it... I'm a solo company driver... recycling hrs, on a Peoplenet elog...:biggrin_25510: DSP had told me this dlvery had not been scheduled and I was supposed to schedule the delivery with broker... But broker never returned my call... :biggrin_25513: I think broker screw up.... :biggrin_2552: maybe a cheap broker trying to sell the service... and poor customer will not get the product when he expected... Maybe customer should find better broker next time....

Oh well... I better go now... and start planning my stops for tomorrow, have my meal and go to bed....:biggrin_25518:

Howdy. I am finally able to log back in after the hack. Not much has changed. Crappy hours, worse pay and product that likes to remain in the hopper.

Sitting on the south side of Chicago, waiting to unload. Then downtown to reload. :(

Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary of driving.

Loading sunflowers in Gettysburg, SD. Where the battle wasn't.

Sorry your new job is such a drag, Zen. Hopper work over here is a lot different, thankfully. I'm only home on the weekends, but the pay is good. We usually quit hauling DDGS in the summer when it's hot and humid and the stuff wants to cake so bad it won't flow. In the winter the stuff usually flows very well.

The biggest city I see pulling a tri axle is Winnipeg. The places we deliver to there aren't too bad to get to. If I pull a tandem the biggest city I get to is Minneapolis/St. Paul, usually by the river somewhere.

Congratulations on your one year driving anniversary!
