Police was there for several hrs, looking around with flashlights... I did my prayer and wen to bed... was completely exhausted. Went to fuel station this morning and asked what happened.... guy said one guy was shot outside the fuel station.... hmmm.... I didn't hear anything... :biggrin_25513:

This is where I was parked last night. It's not bad.... it has a Mexican restaurant and a public restroom, Mexican buses come by all night...

Was loaded today, now confortably sitting inside my sleeper berth and having a bowl of "home made" soup. I am at the dock at one of my co's warehouse in CA. I am the only one here. They have an electronic gate and high wall so nobody on the street can see the truck here.... They will live unload me tomorrow. Then will live load me.... and then I will have truck and trailer washed for some special event this weekend.... and will meet another co. driver who will be going to this event too.

Ashland VA until this afternoon. No sense rushin' down to my receiver since I can't unload early anyhow. Think I'll see about gettin' some laundry done.

I had a pick up truck only day that wasn't one of the better paying days...
Came home to find out that the dogs had dug out AGAIN and neighbor lady says one of them attacked kids. I think probably tried to lick 'em to death.
Anyhow I THINK I fixed that hole in such a way that they won't get out there again.
Now to go get my Turkey Pot Pie and eat!

In your situation, Cheesy Pete, this is great news!!!

Are you picking up Miss Patty and the furbabies on your way through Chicago, or has she already gone ahead and found a place for all of you? Take care, be safe, and good luck with the new job. ~Hugs~

Well.... I am not sure yet... but I may end up spending a looong weekend here...

Instead of having truck and trailer washed and going to South Los Angeles tomorrow for some special delivery, I am at Freightliner in CA. Some engine lights came on last night. This morning, as another company driver and I took off from warehouse, (we were going together to the same place) I got red flashing stop engine light:biggrin_2554: Had to immediately stop at entering ramp and after talking to a little upset maintenance person, drove to Freightliner.
Good thing this shop was only a few miles from where I was.... and all engine lights stayed steady (not flashing) till I got here.... Truck is still sitting outside shop.... I hope I can sleep in there tonight.... But if not, there are two very comfortable recliners in the quiet room here... :yes2557: And this place has shower and laundromat.... The laundromat is much cheaper than the ones a Pilot/FJ:yes2557: So, took a nice shower and now doing my laundry....
Tomorrow my fellow co. driver will come here, if my truck is still not ready (and it may not), and will take my trailer to the place where I was supposed to go. And after unloaded he will take it to co. warehouse only a few miles from here for me. Isn't that nice??? :yes2557: Well... he will be making extra $$$$... :yes2557:
This load is going to a very difficult place to get in and out.... Co. was going to pay me extra for that, but I am not unhappy being here instead.... :biggrin_25512:
Now, I just hope problem with truck is something simple like an egr valve.... Shall see... Would like to cook but they may need to take truck in the shop at any moment... may have to walk around to find somewhere to eat... something that I can eat...

So far I'm finding out the Elog is not working as it should. I'm not the only driver who's driven with the Elog showing On-Duty. Then it does not automatically change your status when you stop, or go to driving when you take off. Was thinking about telling the boss about this, but realized that leaving it alone has more benefits. Don't have to worry about the thing putting me driving at some of the places we load or unload. Now for the mandatory 30 min break have to remember to push Off-Duty, not On-Duty. Hey I'm not the only one, another driver I was running with was doing the same thing. So we would have to use the "annotations" to correct it.

Made 2 circle runs, from Lyons to KCMO (salt), Chanute to Derby (dust). Was suppose to do another tomorrow, however they cancelled the dust. Good thing we could not make it to KCMO on time. You see last night myself and the other driver I was running with, hit Chanute at 4pm, to find another 8 trucks waiting to load. Well, I didn't get loaded until 8:30 pm, and was out of hours before that. We just logged off-duty, (yes on the elog, I told you the thing is not working right), loaded, then camped out. We made it to the dump/job site on time, 7am. However the construction crew didn't bother showing up until 8.

I think tomorrow I'll be delivering the salt to KCMO, then to New Market to load Buildex for Mound City. From there back to Chanute to preload dust to deliver Monday to Derby.

    Rocks Thanks this.

Sorry to hear about your truck, Rocks. Glad you made it to Fr8lnr with no problems. Hopefully, they will get you fixed and you can head out for another run quickly.

Eaton, are you going to Mound City MO or KS? You and Rocks make me tired just reading about your days.

    Have a good one, y'all.

    Rocks Thanks this.
