Where Are You....continues........

According to Googlemaps that Wyoming route is 44 extra miles and an extra hour. Of course those are Car Times, not Truck Times. Jus' sayin'.

 

...and how much do the grades on Lookout Mountain, Floyd Hill, Georgetown, the Eisenhower approach and Vail add to it? Not to mention higher fuel flows to get over those grades, and fuel costs more in Colorado.

 

Now I can relate to fuel flow! I am MUCH more likely to stay on the freeway rather than run all the traffic lights on the BW8 Feeder.

And on a similar note my phone was in my room charging for much of yesterday. I missed a call and a text asking me if I could do a 10000# Hazmat run today. I guess they found some other sucker to do it. I can hardly believe the place they wanted it delivered to is even open on Sunday.

 

Looks like this hotel where I am is filled up with truckers... This morning I saw a driver showing to his partner how to chain... He knew what he was doing and was so fast... took about 15 mins!



After chaining and tightening it up, he put that rubber "spider" holding some edges of the chain.... It looked pretty easy....




I went to him, introduced myself, asked a couple of questions and thanked him for that great demonstration. That was awesome! :smt023

 

I am enjoying my last day at home for a while. I am leaving Winnipeg on Monday morning to drive up to Edmonton to start my orientation for my new job hauling oil in Alberta. Starting on Wednesday I have 2 days orientation and a half day of On Board Computer training in Edmonton. Then its a long weekend so will be a few days off then I go to Bonnyville Alberta for a 2 day first aid course and a 1 day H2S Alive course. Once all thats done its time to get working!

Took a bus to the nearest Walmart... When I got in the bus, I was the only passenger... Seems that not many folks ride on a bus here... at least today...



I think there's a Mexican Church on the other side of this hotel parking lot. I hear a lot of music, folks singing... The music reminds me of my time with my dad, in that little village where he lives... on a Sunday evening one could hear the music and folks singing... coming from the so many Churches everywhere...

 

Hey! Actually that was not a Church on the other side... It was a marriage reunion on this hotel parking lot... Lots of couples, I think all Mexicans... they had speakers, folks with musical instruments and everybody singing... I went there to check it out but it was at the end... Everybody is leaving now... ladies carrying flowers... very nice...

2 lil cuties just out of surgery needed donations
then I watched my Patriots
now a lil rest before a hectic day in LA LA land
I suppose I will speak to Otter for directions before it is over

 

Too bad you got in at the end. Sounds like it could have been a lovely way to spend a Sunday.
