Yes... Mr. Otter... You're right again... Here I am again...:biggrin_2557: My happiness didn't last long... :biggrin_25513: After 900 miles, truck showed the same problem... I was about 13 miles from co. warehouse in Ontario... Was going to deliver there.... So, dropped trlr and now I sit here... inside truck, with all my luggage ready... waiting for technician to put truck in the shop... It feels like deja vu... But this time I am not going into that nasty, bug infested Freightliner quiet room.... :biggrin_25513: Will either sleep in the truck or go to that "good" hotel.

I don't know, but I have a feeling that problem is being caused by DEF pump... Maybe it's not working... Because last time I put DEF in it was over 1500 miles ago and it still shows full (4 green squares)... and I have now 3/4 of fuel tanks full. I explained that to them and asked to check that.... but it seems they only look into what computer shows... lousy repair people IMO... Most are young and don't have enough experience... I need a good old mechanic not a young technician who only knows what computer shows... that is getting hard to find nowadays...

Call your people in OKC and let them deal with the mo-ijit-ons in Fontana.

We had one of our new trucks have the DEF line clog...acted the same way. The pump worked but that stuff can crystallize in the line or the bottom of the tank....simple fix if they look at the right thing!

Yes, I did call the maintenance person in my co. and explained that to him... And he said, "Ohhh.... that DEF lasts for 5000 miles... Just take it to Freightliner and let them look at it..." :biggrin_2552: But I will insist... Will send him an email and will insist with folks at Freightliner to check that. Thank you Otter for the encouragement. I really need some right now...

At 1000 miles I will have to put 5-8 gallons of DEF back in the tank....

5000 miles...wishful thinking at best....another "mechanic" that believes and swears by what the book says, not what actual experience dictates!

Yup it sure can. Turns out, they use some pressurized air in the DEF system... and if there's moisture in that air it can cause the DEF fluid to crystalize. Y'all been draining your air tanks every day, haven't ya Otter?

From my experience with "management"...they seem to be the easiest to be duped into what the sales people tell them....they really don't like what us "drivers" have to say!!:biggrin_25512:

If you be heading north on I29, be extra careful. Way too many deadly accidents happening on that stretch from Platte City to Faucett. I'll be waiting for your next post so I know you and TruckerDawg make it through safely. ~Hugs~
