My mom used to say, "whatever doesn't kill you, will make you stronger..."

 

I think it DOES kill ya,but it takes a looonnng time. I'm watching my 4 older brothers,when younger,we were all about the same.When they start "kickin",I can make plans and live accordingly.

 

Each one is different, even in the same family. You are blessed to have good health and be strong as you are.

 

I too,feel myself getting older,as I will not lie to myself,and my weight poundages in the gym have been gradually going down..

However,I saved a poster as a teen from the 1970's,of a mouse on a country hill,with an Eagle about to pick it up with her talons..

The mouse,knowing it was ######,still defiant,was giving the Eagle a BIG middle finger...

We all lose...its just a matter of time,we cant change that,but we CAN decide on HOW we check out..

Who is this "MasterTech"?

 

Not sure... it depends... sometimes it's too late, sometimes we just can't, or don't have the power... My old dad, younger than some of his brothers.... he used to feel good, checking with doctor regularly, but had diabetes and didn't want to obey the diet. Few months ago had a brain stroke and now half of his body is paralyzed... Not trying to argue with you... just think that $#!* happens even when we think everything is "under control" and don't expect....

 

Agreed..but can I tell you a short story..3 years ago,a friend of mine,who was feeling fine,was diagnosed with cancer,terminal,I mean it was everywhere,and he called his close friends over to tell us...He did NOT cry,he told us of no regrets,and he was not wallowing in self-pity,nor would he let any of us comfort him in any way..Now,I am sure he had those thoughts when alone;point is,he did not show it...

He simply had us come over and say good-bye..None of us ever saw him again,he died in his sister's basement,and some may think it was selfish of him to let no one near him his final days,but he did NOT want to let us see how cancer was eating him up...IMO,he went out the right way..The way HE wanted.

That is what I meant by controlling our destiny..Somewhat.

Sorry for getting off-track.I will NEVER park at a scale (willingly) again,I am bored out my gourd.. Thanx Rocks,no worries;Gawd knows I hate this too much,HE will keep me around awhile just because of that fact...In a truck;at 82 years oldNo doubt..
