I have had Little Sisters do some polishing, not bad if your stuff isn't to far gone. Kind of a waste of money if you need to have any sanding done.
I quit buying anything from HF that has a power cord years ago, my luck wasn't very good at all -
I do have my truck polished every years, cost more or less 250$ but everythings get sanded and buffed.
I used to go to West Memphis once in a while for just a quick buffed job it was cheap and the result was good but my wheels/tanks are always in good conditions. -
There's a place in Wildwood Florida,that use to do polishing,they were good,but a little pricey imho.Guess they're still there,aross from the TA.

A buffer is much better suited for the purpose than a drill. Cordless drills are meant to be used in short bursts, to drill a hole or sink a screw. Continous use like polishing will ruin a good cordless drill.
-
You put it on the polish or cutting wheel. Basically hold it down with your foot and run the edge of the wheel over it a couple seconds.
-
But the cordless drill can charge in the truck, and is lightweight. If you're polishing at home then I agree with you, but on the road a 30$ cordless drill does the trick.

Extension cord with power inverter. Easy peasy.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -
I just bought a kit in ebay $60, will try it out when I get home next time.
Getsinyourblood Thanks this. -
Yep. A good hundred foot extension cord should be in every trucks side box.Getsinyourblood Thanks this.
