Right now I'm doing food grade work, so I have a two line hydraulic system that runs a pump at the back of the trailer. I'm thinking when I buy my own truck, I'd like to have the versatility to be able to haul whatever is out there on the load boards.

It was roughly 10k to get a wet kit installed on my used but new to me truck when we got it.

I think we got ripped off too.

That sounds steep, used equipment is plentiful, and dirt cheap out there. But, I bought my tractor with everything set up on it. Even has a lift axle along with two line wet kit, ti-pac and lockers.

pto’s are not from the factory they are after market any major shop can sit down with you and speck out a Chelsea system for your application and install a driveline pto or a wet line it’s going to be dependent upon you to know what your talking about when your ordering your system and switches for the pto can be put anywhere

From what it sounds like I think your best bet would be to find a truck close to what you want, and set it up with your PTO and hydraulics from there. It sounds like you are talking about a tractor with a wet kit and a trailer, not a truck with a tank, and a pup trailer? If it were the latter I would think it would be much tougher to find a truck out there to suit your needs.

Not a tanker, but it took me 2 years of craigslist and truck paper almost nightly, and talking with dealers every month or so to find a used dump truck to suit my needs and wants, and I still ended up having a new body built for it a year later. Good Luck

What I mean is I'd like to be able to haul drive-in or reefer but also have the wet kit to be able to pump a tank load.

You are correct… I want a standard semi tractor with a wet kit.

I found out that Prime will charge me $4800 to set up a truck to haul tankers. I can buy any truck I want that meets their O/O requirements and they will send it out to their vendor to have it done.
