Yes those end dumps require you to operate a shovel and a broom (not the riding kind) at times. Not sure if any training is available. And watch out for power lines when going up.

I did, talked to a couple of OO, they got bought by QC earlier this year and while things haven't completely chanced, change was certainly on the horizon and not necessarily good change.
I'm going to run dumps till at least Feb-march. If it hasn't grown on me by then, I'll see what's available.

Ran up to Michigan from Texas, then a load from Ohio to Wisconsin. Taking a 34 now since I ran my clock out. Next load is from Ohio to Nebraska, then home in time for Thanksgiving. I may be the one cooking, but that's OK. I like to cook and hardly ever get to since I started driving.

Took last week off, week before did my usual runs to bmore. Heading out tomorrow early am in the snow for a run to cleveland and back. Compartment trailer, usually under 40k so it will be a good first run on this new clutch. I had a 2000 lbs/ft clutch installed over tday because mine was slipping bad, too much power for it to handle. I wanted to swap transmissions but that became unrealistic because of the size difference between 10 and 13. I still want to but I'll have to find another shop that can do it, mine didnt want to even attempt it. Basically have to redo the entire driveline.

It's not a huge undertaking. I asked my shop and they said it was no big deal, just to cut the drive shaft shorter.

Mine made it sound like it was a big project. Relocating carrier bearing, clutch linkages, mounts, etc etc. I dunno, I just want to split 10th

Its a FRO 10 speed, .74 final and 3.25 rears. 24.5" low pros, 1200 rpm in 10th is around 62ish. I have all the torque to pull hills but I hate lugging it down that low, would rather just split the gear and keep it 1300+. Downshifting into 9 and its screaming 1600 rpm at 55...too high

Oh okay yeah I understand now, at first I was thinking it really wouldn't make that much of a difference. Guess I miss understood the split O/D comment at first my bid, I wouldn't think the swap should be to bad overall though just gotta deal with the extra length. Hopefully it wouldn't mess with your pump mounting to much either?

I got this load Wednesday in St. Louis going to NJ. Appointment was scheduled for late afternoon today, but that worked out OK since yesterday I only got a little over 500 miles down the road due to some icy roads and the fact that just about every truck stop east of Columbus fills up by 1600. So I got a nice 14-hour break yesterday and moseyed on into the receiver an hour ahead of schedule.

But wait, it's New Jersey! Of course the PO number on my bill of lading is wrong. They send me back out, I head over to the tank wash nearby and call dispatch. I found the number they were looking for and called the contact on the bill. Oh, she says, that load was rescheduled for Tuesday morning. (She was really nice, so I couldn't even be mad.)

The party's here at the TA in Paulsboro this weekend. BYOB. I'd buy you one, but I'm broke right now. Aw heck, if anyone actually shows up, I'm buying. Just don't tell my wife I spent the money.
