Where's u tankers loading at this morning

Yeah, I don't think I'll go back to flats. I find myself thinking, Why did I ever put up with tarping?

Had equipment trouble last week. First, sprang a coolant leak, cost me most of a day. Then finally got to the receiver in Texas and stuff started spraying from the pump behind the back plate just from the tank pressure. Turns out someone didn't put the thing back together right when they installed a rebuild kit. Had some oilfield pump guys fix it. (I was west of Lubbock. Looks like the oil business is still a little slow around there.)

I'm working all weekend to make up lost time. Had a short run Friday, then shagged an empty trailer 190 miles yesterday (380 round trip), then did a sugar load to Coke early this morning. Picking up an enzyme load for Illinois in the morning, then I'm not sure. I'll be running on recaps after tomorrow, and a couple of those days I'll only be getting back five hours or so.

 

Still, sounds like it's going alright for you, man. I never DID get the tarping, NOR the securement, when i hauled flats for a few winters in the off season. I'm lucky to have my CDL after those days, put it lightly. Was never trained, just winged it. Not good judgement, I know. Found this place kinda ex post facto. . . too little too late.

Yeah, tanks have some quirks. I had a problem with my dang PTO last week...wasn't engaging, and I thought it was the clutch of course. Come to find out, it was the wiring harness that marries the two. I have pieces/parts on the truck and bubble gummed it together til i got to home base..... worked fine~! Some days are just like that.

I've had to work all weekend due to the late spring, and the paving. Kinda getting my butt kicked this time of year, but I'll be fine. Wife takes on the "guy chores" at home when it goes like this; thank God.... plus the 13 y/o son helps *somewhat!* LoL....

That is just on the other side of 94 and a little south of the lovely Chicago terminal I visited less than two weeks ago. There are some really crappy roads in that part of town.

The only good thing about going to Chicago in a tanker with a midroof was that I didn't have to worry too much about low bridges. I hate Chicago and their dang railroad bridges. Oh, and the traffic. And the rule of no trucks on boulevards, only on avenues. And that one time when two guys were testing the door to my truck on a bright sunny day at frigging noon while I was halfway under a tarp resecuring my load after dropping off a crate of glass in the hood. (Now how did I know I needed to lock my door even though I was never more than 20 feet from the truck?)

Other than that, I love Chicago.

 

OK lol, here's a pic shortly after I got my truck washed last week. I'd take pictures at the bee keepers places, but it's always so busy. And the other places don't want to see me with my cell phone in my hand at all.

I run out of Cincinnati terminal. Dana folks are right there too, we can pull for them as well. Yea it is alot diferent than vans, still have ways to go, learning something new every day. This week running oil loads ( Valvoline) around KY and MI since my compressor is still not installed. Will try both but leaning towards staying regional. Guess depends on $$.
