When I was running real OTR (home every 3 - 5 weeks), I got a little crazy I think. I would talk to drivers on the weekends while doing laundry and they all made sense. Once a week I would eat at a Denny's or similar and the drivers all made sense. So yeah, staying out can make you see things a little differently than the rest of the world. You know it's bad when you hear a story that starts with "I was in Dallas at the Loves and I'd been drinking at that bar over across the road..." and you start to giggle because you sort of know how it's going to end. And you could change the location to "Sacramento at the 49er" or "Grand Junction at the TA" or a few others and still have the same reaction....

I'm really confused about something, a driver on here that works otr for Schneider pulling tanks tonite says he has never made 1k bucks in a week. He makes 45 cpm, I only make 1 cpm higher than him and I average 1500 a week. I'm starting to think maybe it's possibly true what is often said. That drivers can't make competitive pay working at snbc and maybe I'm just the 1 out of 100 exception to this. I hate to think this but Several drivers have told me they can't make much money here. But at the same time I can't understand it cause I'm making a killing I feel like. I know our lively hood ( checks) rely on our drivers managers and dispatch but their should not be this big of a gap between two drivers that are otr making the same pay. This is why I never really recommend where I work I only share information about how I'm doing here. I'm thankful for my job and very satisfied but hate hearing a driver trying to support his family by living out on the road pulling these heavy tanks can't even gross 1k a week. That's really disappointing

I apologize for posting that here, this isn't the thread for it but I just wanted to rant about it alittle

Got up early and hauled ### from Gary IN to Cincy, waitin on receiving personnel. Gary never disappoints with the early morning scene lol

Now sometimes it's true that the fault is with the dispatcher, but almost always there is something the driver could be doing different to make more money too. Dispatchers don't get any rewards for keeping their drivers sitting and the trucks idle. No one makes money that way.19d, G13Tomcat and kemosabi49 Thank this. -

Everybody works different. I like to load of Houston going wherever and grab a load going back to Texas or louisana. Then we got guys that like to stay out 3+ weeks at a time. I did my time at Schneider when I first started I tip my hat to all that do that.
