Sounds like a good option. Thanks for all the info. If one of the companies reimburses his tuition that helps out a lot. It also looks like CRST has some free driver's training programs as well.

Florida is a good state for refrigerated trucking.

CRST requires teaming until the contract is fulfilled. Sometimes CRST changes the contract, so it could be between 9 mos to 12 months. Many drivers don't like teaming.

BillyBob’s Alligator Eatery will hire you. But don’t accept a job with BillyBob’s Alligator Eatery. Their drivers disappear. They don’t quit. Not fired. Just disappear into thin air. Nobody knows?

He can get the CDL anywhere. I got mine from community college. Get with a company that will let you run legal. A knack for driving won’t get you as far as common sense. Most drivers don’t crash in the road. They back into people at Pilot and then get pulled over for speeding. I have absolutely zero talent for trucking and I have a perfect record so it’s possible with a lot of luck .
Sign him up with a community college CDL program then ship him off with an OTR carrier doing flatbed. That’ll keep him out of the house for sure.

You could look into Cypress and 160 Driving Academy. Both of them are in Jacksonville.

I think the OP had a change of heart and decided to be a brain surgeon instead.
