I guess the ROPS doesn't always guarantee survival. This death was due to a seatbelt failure.

For me physically demanding is single the biggest issue. My body at my age 55 is no longer built to work like an ox. I don't think a CAT dozer has a bed in it to take a nap during the day either. Us old farts need our beauty sleep.

They use this to rip a furrow 7 feet deep for almond orchard planting. Bottom pic is a gps total station to keep the equipment on grid target.

Not true. Ask some of the heavy haul guys. Can't remember whom, but about 5 or 6 years ago, one of our TTR members got seriously hurt loading a piece of equipment on his trailer. Any mods remember whom I speak of? He's not on here anymore, IIRC.

Yep, asphalt is strictly seasonal here in Ohio. Even though I've only hauled it, once in a great while the road guys would pump right off my tank to do their jobs, as I sat in the A/C of my cab feeling sorry for them, and sharing my water and gatorade ... and umbrella for the brief spots of rain that passed through. I'd pull flats in the winter (rain didn't hinder my delivery to the holding tanks) with Lennils (small jersey barriers) while the asphalt guys drew unemployment in the winters. I still wouldn't want their jobs, even with the time off, LoL~!

Be nice; at least he WORKS! (Unlike some of the complainers/ribbers on TTR~!) :(

....and they're probably not 'starting out' in their mid five'oh's either, haha! Working up to equipment operations from being 20 or 30'ish, would probably land one in the 'cush' josbs by 50 years of age, no?

Farmers up the road from me have climate controlled tractors. They pulled my 'stuck truck' out of the melted snow mud a few years back, no problem! (Nice set ups, for sure!)
