Hi, This post is not Literally asking for directions, just need some good advice. I have applied with Driver Solutions through C1 and will be will be working for Pam if I take that route. I also applied with Road master and will be working for Ptl if I take that Route. I am looking for sound advice as to which of these company's I should want to work for. My ultimate Goal is to get the CDL-A, and get the OTR experience needed to maintain a career in the trucking industry.
Which Route To Take?

Both companies suck. What area of this beautiful country are you in? Maybe we can help you make a better decision. And what is that you want down the road? Become an Owner Op? Get a local job? What kind of niche do you want to be in? Or do you just want to make the most money you can possibly ever make regardless of hometime or benefits?

Pam is the lesser of those two evils. PTL is a trash company which results in some pretty angry drivers. I would recommend not even finding out the cause of that. Do a year or so with your first company, keep your record clean, work hard, and move on to something better.

Thanks for the advice Mach. A recruiter from C.R England just contacted me as well. They partner with Premier Truck Driving School. Do you have any advice on weather or not to go with this company?

CR ENGLAND ? avoid like the plague!! you need to do a lot more research if you even for 1 second considered them !

How old are you, how long have you been driving, what is your driving record like? If you are looking at signing a contract to get training I would say you can do alot worse than Con-Way Truckload (no I am no longer with them as a result of an accident). They have their own training company, and the people I know who went through them for their CDL seem to have done very well.

I am 23 years old. I have wanted to drive commercially for years now, but have waited for insurance purposes.

Millis Transfer has an excellent CDL program.
Between PTL and PAM, I would go with PTL because they have APU's. Ozark Motor Lines is also dry van and has APU's.
Roadmaster or a community college CDL school will give you more choices. Community college CDL schools are the cheapest and just as good. -
Thank you all for your information. I am currently attending C1 and passed my General Knowledge and air brakes test today for my CDL permit. I will be taking the Combination test tomorrow, and hitting the range on Monday. Thanks again for your advice.
Dna Mach Thanks this.
