Last bit is important for people that have that sense, not everyone is that observant though :p

And per parking in citys, this little white boy feels quite at home on the south side of chicago or in detroit, parked there overnight plenty, even helped an unfortunate nightclubbing party get into one of their cars a winter or two ago when it was 10 degrees out in an industrial drive at 2 am (yes, it was actually their car, those girls were out to party, not steal anything)

I’m safe.....nobody wants a 30 year old Pete or a trailer full of cow dung.

I park way out in the middle of nowhere, often with the doors wide open to help air flow.

I sleep fine, but I'm willing to break out into a bada$$ at any given time. I also pay very good attention to details when parked at higher traffic area. Even then, my windows are down and engine off mostly.

The threat of violence will stop most advances.

The only dangerous place I know of in some truck stops is near the buffets!

I've never felt unsafe. Of course, I don't drive in Mexico's Gay District (some of the old timers still call it, "California").

Our monthly safety conference, safety was talking about "every time you stop, check securement and fifth wheel. There are crazy dudes out there." And I'm thinking "dang, son! Nobody's pulling my fifth wheel! I don't start nothin, and I don't talk to anybody. Oh, and nobody's pulling my 27 year old F35 Holland without a hook!"

I feel at least as safe as I would at home, but then again my wife IS from Arkansas.

Joking aside, I think I’ve only ever had one ugly conversation with another driver, and that was on the CB radio after he sped up to keep me in a “no trucks” left lane when I tried to pass him (in my defense, I was actually in the process of passing him when we passed the first truck restriction sign). I generally put out a pleasant vibe and keep to myself.

Also, I rarely park in truck stops. I greatly prefer rest areas, and in my area (a circle roughly a day’s drive in any direction from Dallas) they’re plentiful.
