The people running those aren't hauling the $1/ mile, 40,000lbs. loads.

I already have one of those. Unfortunately mine can't haul anything but its ownself. I do love living in it though.

Exotic car haulers (Reliable, Passport Transport, Horseless Carriage), some HHG carriers, aircraft parts haulers, yeah, you're not buying one of those straight out of school without a serious luck of the draw

Expediters have a few of them (many on straight trucks), they are nice. Drove a tractor from the west coast to my yard here for a friend who went on vacation with his wife. They live in it for 11 months out of the year and haul specialized freight. It is pretty much a self-contained apartment on wheels.

I read the equipment list....seriously? Do they still feel that they have to list power steering and a/c? Does any modern truck buyer actually come in and request a truck w/o p/s and a/c...."how much would it save me to delete the p/s and a/c? It doesn't bother me to sweat, and I have biceps of steel...a/c and p/s are for woosies"...c'mon. If they're going to that much detail, why not say that they'll throw in tires and wheels at no extra charge.

I saw a family of 4 living full time in one of these...they didn't have an actual house and the kids were home schooled. The thing was so heavy it had a steerable tag axle in the middle under the sleeper and heavy haul tires on the steer axle.

The owner of the company where I used to work a while back had a W900L with a big house on the back, actually there were two in the fleet..

Our rates then were $3.50 to $4.50 per mile and up, we ran heavy, and really hard most of the time..

Those trucks aren't as heavy as you would think..

I probably shouldn't post anymore than that !

You know, for the size of that thing, and a few thousand dollars more, I would make it into a full length camper, slap camper plates on it. Fly by scale houses. I have seen many class 8 trucks "converted" into really NICE motor homes/campers, and at that price, it would still be lower than those really huge motor homes we see for nearly if not over a million dollars!
