This is true, just happened to me today!!! I always have the weirdest luck but this, by far, is the worst. Got a call to come into a meeting with my safety guy. I'm thinking it's a random UA, no problem, right? Wrong! He tells me they got a complaint that I made a lane change and cut someone off. Sorry, I had no idea and I didn't cause an accident so no harm done, right? Well if you are gonna cut someone off make sure it's not John H. who just happens to be the Admninstrator (head guy appointed by Pres. Bush, himself) of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration!!!! This is exactly what happened to me. Of the millions of people on the road, I had to piss off the main guy himself. Needless to say, he called, i was fired and now i'm on a 2 day bus ride back to Texas. Now, everyone out there knows companies get calls everyday about thier drivers and they don't get fired over it. Does anyone see the injustice in what has happened? I am still in shock and will now have to explain to my son why I can't buy him the bike I promised him the next time I made it back home. Sorry Mr. H...did not realize you were so perfect and never make mistakes. :biggrin_25513:

Some things are so preposterously awful you just have to laugh...

I'm sorry, I am not the one out of a job, so maybe I am wrong...

Still, the world still needs truckers and I am sure you won't be unemployed for long. I hope you will be working soon, with a brand new story that few can top.

    best of luck!

Well, if you truly cut the guy off, then I don't blame him for calling in. I just hope this isn't a case of a guy in a 4 wheeler calling in because he couldn't get around you quick enough.

To be honest, if this was directly put on your termination paperwork, I would probably find me a lawyer if I felt I didn't do this.

What do you think the odds are while he was dialing your companies number from his cell driving down the road.. that he was eating donuts and drinking coffee all the while reading the sports section in the Times.. Was he driving safely? Not that I know he was doing this.. but most gov. employees are freakin quacks anyway. Isn't it awesome that someone can go out in the morning.. sniff up a bunch of blow.. and pay prostitutes.. then go to work and decide what is right and wrong for us. I love this country! I just wish we had more real people running it.

(This is written by Falcon7's wife. Keep reading and you will find out why)After he was fired his company kindly gave him a ride to the bus station with his things in a box and a ticket back home. This was at noon and the bus didn't leave until 9pm so around 6pm he gets hungry and decides to walk down the street to grab something to eat. On the way back he was robbed at gunpoint by 3 guys. They took it all! Money, bank card, cell phone and of course his bus ticket. Since his bank is only branched in Texas they tell him he has to come in to correct all the money taken from the account, (which was everything). So long story short... he spent last night in a homeless shelter in Minneapolis. Today he is trying to find some day labor to make a little bit to buy a new bus ticket and on my end I am trying to be creative as to how to come up with the money. It's funny how one minor mistake can lead to such devestating chain of events.

Any one out there headed south from MN? My husband could sure use a ride. Just a thought out of desperation. :biggrin_2553:

I wouldn't think of Minneapolis as a bad area from my visits, but I know from the experiences of others that parts of it are bad. I would go to Chicago any day over the Twin Cities. I feel bad for your husband and you. I'm not going there anytime soon, though. Stop the credit cards and have him issued new ones, go from there. Then check all forms of travel looking for a deal. He might find an owner op willing to give him a ride if he is lucky. Maybe the company could have helped him out in this regard as well.
These are just thoughts, all the places I have worked were either a easy drive from home or I kept a vehicle there. Good luck to you.
