Someone did that to me while my brake was set in traffic due to an accident. DOT and Swift both ruled it preventable and at fault for me. I got two jobs since then. A LOT of companies told me no. I needed a year to 3 years depending on the company.

Travelworld67, you might not get fired. You will be asked to explain what happened.

You have to put together the facts into a paragraph. Create a narrative that sounds reasonable. Leave out anything like you were “sick of it”. Say how you tried to let everyone in but eventually you ran out of room to allow any more merging traffic. Also, you need to be completely in agreement that you wish you would have just kept letting vehicles in from the right. You agree that even though you know it was their job to merge safely, you could have just let every Tom Dick and Harry have their way with you. And liked it.

    Farmerbob1 and Travelworld2067 Thank this.

If you stayed in lane, and they were the aggressor, you probably won't get fired, but you will probably get pulled into a terminal for a safety class and perhaps a bit of talking-to.

Just a suggestion though: Don't let your frustration and anger dictate your actions on the road. Let aggressive drivers in. The driver one or two cars back won't be as aggressive, if you crowd them a little, and won't push hard enough to trade paint with you.
