Who's fault was it?

    I have to wonder why he was out in the hammer lane so long. If he was trying to pass the other truck, need to do it with extreme prejudice and authority, not dingleberrying along la la la.

    Now he will have a crash/tow away on his PSP report for the next 5 years. Also want to be very careful which words you choose when calling 911, her ambulance chasing lawyer will probably work those words to several hundred thousand dollars.

    Really, did you watch the video? He was being pro-active and what happens, impatient me-me-me 4wheeler with a "I matter more" attitude".

    SMH at stupidity in this 4 wheeler that thinks he can control the world. :biggrin_25521:

    How the Sam Hill was he being proactive when he seen the first car go by that should have made him watch his mirrors and see monkey number 2 is going to attempt same thing. So being proactive would involve slowing down, because dude was in left lane 4 ever and you know how people like to tap on brakes once they get by someone who'll they feel was holding them up. This isn't this cats first rodeo. No execuse bury this guy under some jail out in 10 buck 2, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. Sir you are the weakest link. Good day!!

    Are we seeing the same video? I saw a truck in the left lane for whatever reason and for whatever time. Who is to say those two were not sitting back there keeping him from coming back in the right lane. Has hapened before. Whatever the reason. Then the first car passes and bingo Brake check, although the second car did not expect this behavior, but it was following too close. Even if the truck had backed off, and who is to say he did not, that first car cut in front of him pretty close before trying the brake test. Since none of us were in the drivers seat, how can you determine what the drivers motivations or actions were at that time. Is it always the truckers fault? If so then you best hang the keys up now before it is your turn.

    Yes it happens all the time, and when it does. You the professional. Need to make adjustments. This guy didn't seem to slow down till after he pushed the chick across the bridge, and then you want to further incriminate yourself by saying you were on the phone. Unacceptable he failed to cover his turd cutter by using smith system. Did not keep his eyes moving, he didn't get the big picture, and he had no out. This could of ended very badly, and I'm sure he wouldn't be seeing the light of day except at rec time.Moral of the story: Don't let the foolishness of other drivers ruin your career. Cover your turd cutter.

    The 2 four wheelers are at fault for the accident.

    As for the drivers crappy attitude I'm going to blame his Mom.

    drivers gotta learn how to "read the road"

    a good fisherman, hunter, athlete, driver, understands their environment, NOT from a book, or a set of rules, but from experiences and understanding how our environment works

    those two four wheelers either set him up, or they were pissing each other off, or they were both pissed off at him for "being too long in the left lane"

    when you are passing another truck, DO NOT TAKE LONG, but execute it swiftly, and dont let 4wheelers in between (many a time i gotta keep that gap closed because some idiot wants to sneak in)

    after you pass, move back into the right lane, too many times i see drivers stay in the left lane too long to pass and after passing they stay out too long, letting the cars pass them on the right


    and yes you are legally allowed to drive the speed limit in the left lane...........so what, use street smarts, not book smarts

    I tell you where the fault lies. The fault lies with BEING IMPATIENT, GOTTA BE FIRST. I will bet you that these two 4-wheelers had no "deadline" or an appointment that they might have been late for, they just could not stand for a truck that didn't "whiz" by the truck in the right lane. Here is what went through both of their minds, "I am not waiting on this truck to complete his pass, I will just shoot up and whip around him and then I will make him get on his brakes real quick for holding me up for a few seconds".

    I guess the female laying in the hospital missed her 'appointment".

    Something tells me the truck driver feels he shares much of the blame for not expecting what was going to happen, and making adjustments and preparations, and I'd have to agree. No defensive driving happening there ... by anybody. And I'll also say that hand-free is not the solution. I can almost guarantee if the truck driver was not "fully engaged" in the phone conversation and devoting little, if any, attention to the driving and the situation, this may not have occurred, for several reasons.

    I'm not saying talking on the phone should be banned (handsfree or not), I'm saying talking on the phone DOES MENTALLY DISTRACT from other mental duties and you can not convince me otherwise. (Some conversations can distract more then others)

    This is not to say the second car passing on the right did not do something stupid, because he most certainly did. I imagine the insurance companies will fight each other but in the end will agree to pay for their own sustained damages as both shared "equal" fault as the driver was heard admitting "I tore him up".
