Why are we so concerned with fuel prices?

Will increased fuel costs put you out of business?

Don't underestimate the collateral damage either. I bought a pair of steer tires yesterday that I won't need for 6 months, but if I wait I know they're going way up in cost and getting hard to find.

I don't know how much oil and grease will rise but its going to hit service costs too, and I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface on higher prices.

My fuel surcharge takes the edge off my largest cost sure, but we're all going to get beaten up by the collateral damage I reckon, and once fuel prices stabilize and fall, you know the associated products we buy won't be going back down again, ever.

Unmoderated does not equal unlimited. This is still a privately owned virtual space that depends on advertisers and big tech, to no doubt some substantial degree. If you think TTR admins won't remove someone that puts their existence at risk on those terms, you're fooling yourself.

Personally, I don't participate in the politics forum because that's not why I visit TTR. Most people that matter to me know where I stand on popular topics, and it tends to remain secondary to any other common interests. If politics are such an important a part of someone's character, that they cannot carry on a productive trade related discussion without it, they probably won't get along well with me.

    Ouch.

We use propane, 500 gallon tank - heat/hot water/cooktop. Use 500-750 gallons of a winter.

MFA propane has , what I see as a futures market contract , you elect to buy 'X' gallons Before Sept 1st at a prescribed rate, say $2.00. Many years it will be less than that rate in Winter, but they keep the overage - because - that's their fun little gambling game. So I'm conservative on my betting.

This year I locked in 300 gallons at $1.90. We ran that out and filled up again at $2.80/gallon.

Price gouging at its finest….. think about it that oil has been in a storage tank on the coast (New Haven or Bridgeport) for weeks at least. And if it’s in someone’s tank it was billed ….. but you get changed the today price.

The majors are going to make a killing on this deal

That'll turn the TA/Petro pumps into a Charlie Foxtrot today.

I had a repair layover yesterday and noticed the traffic at the fuel island seemed a lot worse than usual. Turns out the price went up 20¢ this morning from yesterday. No wonder. Usually those alerts don't help me much. Guess I better turn them back on LOL.
