Frankly speaking, I have no choice. It is a career that takes only two months to get into. Initially pay will be bad but I can live on it. Hopefully in three years I start earning $5000/month and buy a house. Plus, I like driving and seeing places. Why did you choose to truck?

    Just passing by Thanks this.

I love driving, anytime we would go to Florida the family would fly and I would drive. Few years ago my dad said you know you can get paid to drive a vehicle up and down the Interstate so I did. I just am fortunate to still drive and be home every night and make decent pay also

The adventure, freedom of the highways, steady money, meeting cool people and going to cool places appealed to me most. I've grown to like it even more as I've become more experienced.

I have always liked truck. I spent most of my working life loading and unloading them. On one job I moved some truck in and out of warehouse. Had me hooked. I had a chance to get free training including hotels and meals and came with a temporary job that lasted for 6 months. Started school on a Saturday, and trained for11 straight days. On the 12 day I passed my CDL test. and shortly after went to work. Never considered another field since.

Getting into trucking because you think it's your only choice seems like a really terrible idea. Of course many people do it. Think trucking will be like some kind of paid vacation only to realize they hate it. You never know until you try but get into trucking because you think you will like it. Not because you think you have no choice.
Theres got to be other jobs you can work your way to more money without prior experience

It was trucking or being a Gynecologist. Trucking seemed like a better choice.

Grew up around it for the most part and its all I ever wanted to do.
Unfortunately government over regulation, mega fleets, and clueless foreigners are driving me away from it. I was hoping to make the 30 year mark but I don't see it happening.

I like driving and driving cross country was fun going out west and see the different landscape from mountains. Then to flat lands.

It can be hard job if you don't like driving and listening to radio. It basically 70 hours week. I was doing $1200 a week at 6 days working then 34 hours off(reset log book hours) stopped working Saturday at 8 or 10pm. Then back at it Monday morning at 6am or 8am.

Some companies have guarantee pay every week. So you don't have worry about not getting the miles you want. You could be a trainer and drive 5,000-6,000 miles a week to the money. But that very hard job also.
