I’m just driving along and frequently a passing truck flashes their trailer lights at me. I understand if I would blink my headlights for them to get over, but I’ve stopped doing that since I’ve heard on here many don’t like it. Is it just a hello or what?
Why do passing trucks blink their lights?

I've always taken it as a habit or thanks for not speeding up while I'm passing.

Just giving a heads up to the vehicle they are passing. Not everyone uses their mirrors. Lol!

In the daytime, sometimes I do it if I think I might have missed their blink because I wasn't looking back when they blinked at me and don't want to seen ungrateful. I would rather say thanks for nothing rather than give no thanks for something. At night, it's a different story.
