Why do people speed up when you try to pass them?

Guess i never gave it much thought i've had too many friends over the years with pickup truck mentality. "I'm doing the speed limit or 5 over in the fast lane, F them." Who cares yield the passing lane as the law states UNLESS inclement weather.

I got the roll the window down, extend the bird twice yesterday passing the groups of 4 wheeling sheep who bunch up and brake check one another for dozens of miles at 40mph. Too scared to pass, suddenly offended at the Subie hoonin' past you at 45-50 with his winter rubber hookin up. Honk at me IF i crash but for God sake keep your hand on the steering wheel cause i know you can't drive. Soo mad, don't get it.

Having my indoctrination last year, drove a gutless company truck (t680) down to Georgia and definitely had to learn some strategies to be a more considerate & safer truck driver. I would have assumed after your first long haul you would have realized that all the Roehl, Schneider & Swifties are in the same sad boat as you.

Trucker in front of you farts, lose 1/2 mph. Hit the on ramp fully loaded with a 1 degree incline, might as well throw them hazards on, gonna be a few miles before you are up to a safe operating speed for the interstate.

If I'm anywhere there are hills and cruising at the speed limit or slightly over and a plastic truck tries to pass me I will speed up.

Why?

Because I know that moron is going to slide back over into the granny lane and drop below the limit because his underpowered governed pos can't pull the hill. I'm not playing leepfrog with an idiot all day.

 

How'd the plastic idiot truck catch you? Are you claiming it's because of the hill?

 

30 years out here and not one time has someone ever caught me that couldn't pass me. I'm capable of maintaining my speed and not being distracted. I drive in a professional manner and not like an idiot. There's absolutely no reason for someone to speed up when they're being passed other than they're just an a-hole.
