Why do they ask you if you smoke?

That"s the spirit.. Smoking is a "dying" art...They will miss us when we are gone.,or the tax $$ we pay for cigs anyway...

One reason they ask I imagine is for health Ins reasons. If you smoke you pay more for Ins. There is a waiting period after you quit before the premiums come down. 2nd reason would probably be to match you with a smoker if you smoke or a non smoker if you dont.
I hate all the quit BS too.

Yes, you will be encouraged to quit if you do smoke, but it's not an all-out frontal assault. They want to know whether you smoke so that if you do, you won't be teamed with a non-smoking mentor. Or if you don't, you can opt to run with either a smoker or non-smoker...keeping in mind it will take longer on average to find a non-smoking mentor.

It's really no surprise there are so many mentors who smoke. I already smoke, so if I was to become a mentor (Don't ask. The answer is no.) I guess I would have to take up drinking instead...

As far as I'm concerned though, they can feel free to hold their breath or move away from where I am smoking.
