Every time I go in looking at phones and mention that I tether all the time they claim all sorts of crap. Like how it's going to damage the phone in some way. Just today I heard the most ridiculous one. Apparently Google will void my phone warranty if I tether for more than 10 minutes. Where do these guys come up with this crap? They're talking to a guy with months of hotspot on time.
Why do Verizon sales people feel the need to lie?

They are trying to sell you a separate hot spot device. Since they have no control over your ability to tether with an unlocked device the only thing left to do is lie. Imagine that, a phone company trying to take more of your money. Nothing is new my friend.

But Verizon as a company sucks. I know they might have a little better service than AT&T but they're more expensive and not worth the extra cost. I'm with a local carrier that doesn't service Canada. when I have to go into Canada I buy a prepaid AT&t SIM card and it's $50 for unlimited talk and text in Canada the entire us and Mexico with 8 gigs of data.
Verizon wants to charge me $60 for the same plan plus $5 a day whenever I'm in Canada.
