I don't, here's why. . Say you're driving 5 miles over the speed limit for the last three hours and a car gets tangled up with you and the driver dies. Let's say you were not at fault. But her estate lawyer subpoenas your records including ECM, driver logs, IFTA reports, BOL's for the last 6 months. Using the logs and IFTA reports they determing your routes for the last 6 months and establish what the speed limits were on all those routes. They then compare the ECM speed reports to the logs and print out fancy graphs, and pie chart analytics that show you drive 5 miles over the speed limit everywhere you go. So you have shown a blatant track record for disregard for the law.

What you have done is the same as a doctor going into surgery without washing their hands.

So the lawyer says, look this driver was driving 5 over for three hours, if he had been doing the speed limit would have been 15 miles away from where my client died. We would like to sue for $5 million which had the truck driver been back 15 miles away would not have killed my client and therefore she would have lived on and earned $5 million in the rest of her lifetime.

I run 5 over or more all day! I would pull my hair out at 55 in Cali!.....Even these 65 mph trucks would drive me insane!....Hell the cars run 80+ all the time and are usually the cause of accidents anyway...
I don't get out of hand and my personal dash cam runs all the time.......I must be an old 33 year veteran "outlaw" trucker....lol!!

The last time I checked if a business owner wants to speed a little, its their truck, fuel, and business. Also, they may haul good paying freight where they can run over the speed limit. The only thing that bothers me when another driver is speeding is when they are tailgating and cutting people off for no reason.

I'm typically at speed limit, although occasionally my trailer is released late, and I have some ground to make up. However, the most you will ever see me is four over.

You are a truck driver you are guilty for anything and everything. If the only reason for you not to speed is a fear of being sued, then you got it wrong.
I drive at speed I'm comfortable with sometimes its over sometimes less than the limit.

I thought the only trucks that sped were the governed company trucks in construction or school zones.
