I have other things to worry about than trying to change how someone drives. No need to stress myself over it. In the end, it all comes around.
You seem like a good guy, but you can only drive your truck. Stop trying to drive everyone elses also.
Why Do You Exceed The Speed Limit?

So what you're telling us is you got caught, and are upset that others get away with what you couldn't, and have the ability, through speeding, to make more money than you?
If you find me speeding down the highway, I can assure you it's not for the extra couple cents I'd make. It would be more for the pure pleasure of doing whatever I want, (safely, I run with the flow of traffic), and having a good time doing it. The company I work for doesn't govern trucks, we don't get 'written up', and we don't get our DAC report dinged if we screw up. No, around here if you screw up, you're out the door, and maybe in a violent manner. And our company has a very good safety record. So it must work.
So you got caught. It happens. Not a big deal, you didn't go to the Gulag. But you seem stressed out over all this. And I'm not sure exactly why.
If making videos and doing such research is your thing, great. Film away! But playing traffic cop and chastising everyone who passes you will, in the end, stress you out. And stress is not good for you.Last edited: Apr 11, 2017
fargonaz, Lepton1, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
The only thing that bothers me is when other drivers get pissed and freak out because you are driving the speed limit.
spyder7723, JReding and x1Heavy Thank this. -
In the video I posted, the speed limit was 50 for trucks with a left lane restriction. I was going 50 and passed by 3 trucks in succession who had to break the speed limit law to do so and use the restricted lane to do so as well.
I have been posting a ton of videos over the years showing truckers doing illegal stuff like speeding and crossing over double yellow lines to pass me. I have been accused of 'forcing' them to break the law by something I was doing like I must have been baiting them by going too slow then speeding up and playing games to get them on cam. So i got the handsfree bodycam to prove my speed and prove my innocence when I catch these bad actors on cam breaking the laws.
The thing that stresses me out and bothers me is being accused of doing something wrong when I'm not and clearly the people I am filming blatantly breaking the laws get a pass because 'they are keeping up with the flow of traffic' or some other weak pathetic excuse.x1Heavy, rbrtwbstr and Toothpick1 Thank this. -
For some reason @scottied67, you're like a magnet for bad drivers!
You should pull over and check the back of your trailer to see if there is a sign that says "PLEASE F&CK WITH ME"!Lepton1, MachoCyclone and scottied67 Thank this. -
@scottied67, I'm certainly not accusing you of doing anything wrong. I hope I didn't come across that way. And I'm not looking for a free pass for keeping with the flow of traffic. If I get busted, it's on me, and I'll accept the penalty.
I guess the message I was trying to convey (probably poorly) is lighten up a bit. You're stressing over people doing these things, but you're not going to change things. And yes, I'll agree those you've filmed are clearly in the wrong in most cases. But, you aren't going to change it. So ya gotta just let it go, unless they're putting lives in immediate danger. -
So just a scenario here. Let's say you are on idk I 40 in the right lane. I roll up behind you leaving plenty of following distance. Let some traffic pass to clear the left lane. Put my left signal on, merge into the left lane and roll into the throttle. Hold it at 75 (70 mph speed limit) till I make my pass which takes little time. See I have left you plenty of space put my right signal on and merge back right. Ease up to 70 and continue my journey. Is that a dick move?

I believe my videos have already affected change. I see fewer and fewer trucks breaking laws every day. I believe safety managers at companies are getting the word out that their drivers need to behave. I was even in a Swift terminal recently, they had a display on the wall saying "don't do anything to get on youtube today" lolLast edited: Apr 11, 2017
