The back end expands to 10ft wide. There’s room to get at the inner tires when it’s expanded.Cattleman84, okiedokie and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I've seen speead RGNs out west a time or two, some even had small tool boxes between the tanems. I don't know for sure that I have ever seen them east of the rockies thoughD.Tibbitt Thanks this.

You’re not in violation of bridge law (most likely anyway), you’re now in violation of the kingpin to rear axle regulations. They are different, even though most drivers will argue that point.
That depends on the state, or maybe even the officer. We just had a lady get popped for 85k in Washington and they let her go with just an axle weight ticket once she spread her trailer axles.
Those trailers are pretty common in the aviation world. You can haul a much bigger engine on the rear deck over a 10’ spread axle vs a 8’ deck that over most tandems.D.Tibbitt and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Swift & Knight back in the early 2000's had some Texas Walmart Dedicated 59 foot long / 14-foot height high cube trailers. Always had plenty of damage on these trailers.

Wayne Daniels trucking out of Mo. had 57' trailers that were legal in Ca. They ran SWB cab-overs. This was back in 80's if I remember correctly. Also, being a Ca. resident most of my life, Ca. does not change any regulation easily. I mean, look at the 55 MPH speed limit for trucks !
