    @Gold_Miner: No, it's not legal. You're breaching a contract you signed, which is illegal punishable by lawsuit in civil court. I don't believe it's "criminal" though. Perhaps that's what you mean by "perfectly legal"?

    @Florin: No, he's not paying for his CDL (if he were to pay, that is). What he would (should?) be paying Swift for is the training he received. He paid the Texas DMV for the CDL, but his contract with Swift is for training in order to successfully pass the CDL test and satisfy Swift's insurance requirements.
