I own my own gear and my leased on rate was 90% at the last place and now it’s 75%
You need to stop looking at that % rate. At 75% I’m better than the 90% and I only cover my personal insurance -

And just because the gravy train is coming to an end doesn't mean everyone can't make a good living. 99.99% of truckers won't pull unless there's a profit to be made, so no matter what rates are, rates will be profitable. Doesn't matter the cost of diesel, parts, new trucks, insurance, none of that matters. Might have to step down from rib eye to sirloin, but nobody's eating Ramen noodles. Except maybe the OM. -
