Without a DAC can an employer pull up your previous employment record?

I'm a newbie, haven't even got my CDL yet, no DAC record yet, and wondering if in all the investigations of my past going on... trying to get on with some of these trucking companies, can they pull up somehow every where I have ever worked? Just curious because a couple of times in my past I have told employers to kiss my butt and left without putting in a notice, I'm sure they don't have nothing good to say about me, LoL

Just wondering if I can get away with not mentioning a couple of employers on my past employment history?

It depends on how thorough the background check is.
Also depends on how long you were at these companies (1 month? 1 year?), and if you were paid on a W-2.
A dept of labor/social security # check can disclose this basic info. So it's "possible".
What are you going to list for these missing time periods?

You can omit any prior company on an application. But if it's significant and discovered, it typically doesn't go well with the prospective employer.

You will have to provide a 10 year employment history. If you leave one out you will have to explain the gap in employment.

I will just be honest and tell the trucking company why I up and quit without a notice. Would rather not get caught telling lies. Hopefully they will understand that sometimes people just can't stand to work out a two-week notice.

If its over 3 years ago,

you have a good chance of not listing them........

You know it really doesn't matter. They are looking for info on your driving employment, not your regular employment. The FMCSA requires there to be a record of employment going back 10 years from the time you applied, and most of the time it has a question for each one if you fell under DOT rules while employed.

What I would do is this - just fill out the app and then if they ask, tell them you terminated the employment with the company because of differences of opinion.

By the way, there is no two week notice law, it is a common courtesy thing as something you do to help the company out.

Go to Hireright.com, It's the company that does DAC reporting. You can file for copies online and get within 2 weeks for FREE once a year. I just got mine and I highly recommend ALL drivers to do so. Good Luck.
