I'm currently a company driver. My sleeper truck is parked along side my house, start her up once a week and drive it once every 10 to 15 days. Since I'm making 6 figures and home daily, I'm making almost as much as I did being an O/O without the risk.

I have a question for you, why did you park it and sell your step if you was doing so well hauling those high paying light loads ?

Just curious... is that gross before Landstar’s cut? Or is that your pay to the truck?

Man that is a super nice truck.
I would do what your doing in a hart beat, where I live if a company driver that’s home every night made a 100k I would do it in a hart beat and park my truck as well I understand the freedom of being and o/o but I also undythat if you can make that much and be home every night with out having the worries and the added stress I would hang it up as well I believe you made a smart choice

Rates may tumble hard once all these record breaking sales for new trucks come online.. also need to consider pay raises by so many companies may attract some drivers to drive this new equipment .. over capacity is a real possibility

Why does that gargantuan sleeper have the extra tall back end with the double clearance lights? I’d love to have a rig like that, but that’d bug me.

    Curiosity is good.

I always post my numbers TTT - ‘to the truck’ - meaning, example.

    $1200 LS board rate on a 200 mile run - broken down is . . .

    $1000 linehaul at 73%
    $200 FSC at 100%

    $730 + $200 = $930 TTT, or $4.65/mile TTT.

I do this because a lot of friends are on their own numbers, or leased to different carriers with different deals - so it’s an apples/apples.

When I post “I’m at ‘x’ per mile so far this year “, it’s ALL miles, deadhead, loaded, the whole shooting match. Not just ‘loaded’, or per trip.
