Do you find it helpful to know waiting time statistics before you go to locations? Would you do anything different if you know before experiencing yourself that waiting time on average at a shipper is 5 hours 45 mins?
Would you like to know how much time drivers spend at locations on average?

Absolutely. If I knew that a received would hold me up, I'd simply take that trailer full of frozen chicken,
And park in a truck stop in Montana for a month.ramblingman, paul_4lp, pattyj and 9 others Thank this. -
blairandgretchen Thanks this.

There's no way for a driver to adjust behavior for this factor because there's no way to know what the actual waiting time will be. This average waiting time figure is as useful as knowing how long it takes to take a leak.
Knowing it changes nothing in the real world.misterG and blairandgretchen Thank this. -

It really all depends on what next load may be , what time you can arrive at the receiver , and if they have a staging area to park for a few if you get there a few hrs early..
I mean there all lots of variables that could go into the responses. ..Konrad Po and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Driver probably won't leave til empty...knowing what time he or she will be empty in advance doesn't change actual departure time...doesn't change what to do in between time...start a nap..end it when they knock on the door...read for a while, stop when they knock..eat something...put it away when they knock..
Short answer, you arrive at appointment time and leave when they are done. No value in knowing in advance what time that will be.blairandgretchen and Konrad Po Thank this. -

Personally if I know I am gonna be there for 6 hrs I am gonna make the best of time , I would park close the day before about hour or two away, so I would show up say two hrs early and park , and then the 6 hrs I am in a door sleep . So now I have a 8 hr break and get some hrs back to roll to next stop if say its a few hrs away .
Thats my thing with it . I am not gonna drive there like some do and then kill my 14 by being unloaded .
Maybe I try to plan a little to far a head , but thats just what I think of when I go in somewhere , and alot of times I look at the bol's to see how much break down of product will need done so I can sort of judge about how long I will be there .
So yes , it does matter . Sort of.Konrad Po Thanks this. -
