We have collectively given up our freedoms in this nation , A gradual, insidious drift , that is illustrated by this outrage , but goes far beyond. I would be interested in knowing if " the sahadow" is in any way compensated for " being productive " . The roots of this resident evil go back to the insurance carriers and the Government , eg , our elected officials who support legislation sponsored by lobbyists who make the right political contributions. You betcha' ! risk management would dictate that hiring " unsafe drivers " increases liability exposure in the instance of another " incident " . It is said that those who relinquish their rights for greater security , shall have neither. Due process ? " Audi altarem partem" , The basis for Roman Law , was your version heard ? Our legal system , based actually on British Common Law, uses A precept of " A reasonable Person " . All things being equal , what would A reasonable person think ? The quality of justice is tempered with mercy. The punishment does not fit the crime ; the violation would logically fall under " de minimus non curat lex " ..... the law does not concern itself with trifles . The culture of contempt for one's human dignity and self esteem , is deeply rooted now , attracting the calibre of individual who would exist upon the misery of another. What A horrific waste of human resources , training , processing , investing in A person who wants to work , is working , and then throwing away their investment for something that does not equate to unsafe driving. I received A written reprimand once that was entitled " safety violations ". The offense was A log book graphing " error " ; I did A 1/2 hour pre-trip , should only be 1/4 hour . I was " wasting " my hours of service time. Safety violation ? For spending xtra time checking things out prior to going out for 3 days ? Our only salvation is an informed, well read electorate that votes and becomes active in legally defending against these Draconian practices. That being said , things ain't lookin' good for reform. OOIDA is an excellent starting point .

 

Can't say what I want to about a company that does this. I would get banned from the forums. The company that films this almost seems like the moron that used to follow drivers in Chattanooga and call in on them. Good luck to you. It's a bad deal, but it seems like it's best to get away from a crap company like RUSH.

I agree with everyone 100% who has said just move on and be glad your gone.. NOW you have a story to tell at the 'Truckers RoundTable' at the T.S.'s..

 

When your next employer asks you why you were terminated you can tell then "I have the video." After they see it you should be hired on the spot. What a joke Rush Trucking is.

Rush is a car part hauling bottom feeder! Their numbers prove it! Obviously the safety man's butt is on the line with numbers like this so he has to prove to his employer (and the FMCSA who is knocking on his door) that he has a plan.
