XM vs Sirius vs SiriusXM... WTH???

I just had to buy another, because that's what they told me I would have to do after my year old one quit working. Okay, whatever. Buy another one, then they tell me I gotta pay a $15 fee to switch the signal to another device. So I flipped out, told them to shove it up their arse.. so theywaved the fee. Greedy bunch of foreigners.

 

Sorry for such a long wait but i needed to make sure i tested my theory b4 posting. Lets just say 2 radios later i believe i have found the inexpensive way to fix your onyx plus reception problems. Just for future post this is for when your radio says attenna disconnected or no attenna. Well the first radio i messed up trying to pull the prongs a little wider. Lets just say i kicked myself for that. But all you need to do is push in the attenna connection on cradle with a sturdy knife or flathead screw driver. Please see pic posted. DONT mess with radio unit it self. YOU WILL BE VERY MAD. Dont push with alot of force because you need connection to fit.if you still go down the road and it is still getting same message try pushing in a little more as needed. I have tested my theory for about 3 months now and i only lose signal when im not in sight of sats. I have hit 81,64,95,75,77,70,85,and many other roads good and bad and no. Attenna problems. Please make sure to disconnect power and all aux cables before attempting. The circle on the left of picture is the attenna connection for radio. There is a gap between it and power connection strips to push in attenna connection. I have an air vent mount so it has been tested with extreme heat and cold air.

 

this is what I did to mount a magnetic mount antenna. I went to walmart and bought a kit that had a flat metal base it does have a prong on one end but enough space left to stick the antenna to. they are for hanging pics on the wall. jb weld to top of left mirror. hold in place with duct tape until it drys. never had a problem with reception. and it cant be seen from the ground.

 

I just used that double sided tape that came with it on top of mirror on cascadia but if it fails or i change trucks i will defintely look into that

 

I found the antenna plug fused to the cradle (Onyx Plus) so had to order a new cradle. New antenna is now fused to the new crdle but still get great reception. Well, now I do, what I had todo was use a large spring clip to squeeze the cradle and the radio together as the vibration of going down the road caused it to go in and out of signal.

Yeah and what is up with play one song, then station ID, then play two songs/ station ID, one song/station ID over and over again.

Luckily with the plus I can rewind a songback over and over again for an hour and zone out on it. when it is done, just fast forward through the content to another good song to rewind back. Kinda gives me something to do every 4 minutes.

 

I have the onxy and love it, i had XM, it was alright, I then got Sirius, and loved it, and now the merger, it wasnt great. Ill admit, i dont think I have paid full price for anything of theirs for years. I order 6 months at a time, and when my 6 months is up, I call them and tell them, I just received a letter saying you are offering my 6 months for 25 bucks, they you dont give it to me, ill stop service. Works every time.
